Our booking policy


  1. 50% advance payment is required for advance booking of rooms and tours.
  2. Standard cancellation policy will apply (see below).
  3. Advance amount can only be paid Online by UPI / Bank Transfer / Payment gateway (card / UPI / EMI).
  4. Payment is accepted towards the Official current account of M/S Explore Beyond only.
  5. Payment invoice & booking confirmation will be issued at the earliest by the management.
  6. We recommend bookings for persons of age between 18 and 60 only.
  7. Persons below 18 or above 60 are not allowed to book bunk beds.
  8. The property is at a height above the road level and is not accessible for the physically challenged.
  9. There is no wheel-chair access.

  4. Please be aware that bookings made manually through any travel agency without first consulting our management, or through unapproved third-party websites and meta search engines, will not be recognized by our management.

cancellation and Modification

For bookings done through direct calls or through Zemu Gangtok booking engine :
  1. Up to 7 days before check-in : advance amount is fully refundable
  2. Within 7 days before check-in : 50% advance is non-refundable
  3. Refund of advance amount will be credited to the Bank account nominated by the guest within 5 working days.
  4. If arrival at Zemu Gangtok is delayed or disrupted by severe weather conditions or road closures , date change of the booking will be done free of charge.
  5. In case of the entire travel plan being cancelled due to severe weather conditions like landslide or floods and road closures full refund will be issued.
For bookings done through OTAs and booking partners listed above :
  1. Cancellation policy of the booking partner will be followed.
  2. All booking modifications and cancellations must be performed via the app or the website where the initial reservation was made.
  3. Refunds will be handled by the booking partner or OTA.
For bookings done through Travel agencies as part of any tour package :
  • Please contact the Agency you booked through.

Check-in and Check-out

  1. Check-in time is from 14:00 hours till 22:00 hours.
  2. Check-out time is from 06:00 hours till 12:00 hours.
  3. Free early check-in and late check-out is possible depending on availability.
  4. Under special circumstances, check-in after 22:00 and check-out before 06:00 is possible with prior notice.
  5. FREE luggage storage at our store is available for guests in between check-out and subsequent check-in.


  1. FREE parking for 2 and 4 wheelers is available at the property.
  2. Prior notification is required for parking.
  3. Parking slot is subject to availability.
  4. Keys must be kept at the reception after parking the vehicles.
  5. Parking is at your own risk - hostel management is not responsible for any damages.

House rules

  1. Please do not bring cooked food / Burgers / Momos / Pizzas from outside to the dorms and the common areas. You can have them inside private rooms.
  2. You are welcome to bring in bakery items, and packaged snacks!
  3. You can bring in alcohol from outside to the common areas, but a cover charge of INR 50/- per head with GST of 18% will be added to your bill.
  4. Outside drinks are allowed free of charge inside private rooms.
  5. The hostel management reserves the right to stop you from drinking in case of drunken disorder!
  6. Guests have to follow the law of the land. Hostel management will not interfere or proide any assistance in case of any incidents involving a guest and law-enforcement agencies outside the property premises.
  7. Guests are liable to pay for damages to the property. Item-wise damage charges are displayed in every room.
  8. Drug use, bullying and harrassment of any kind will not be tolerated. The hostel management reserves the right to evict any guest in case of violations without any refund.

Dorm norms

Bunks in dorms are shared accommodation. Please follow the norms to make everyone's stay comfortable and safe:

  1. Sleep in the bed assigned to you during check-in. Do not switch beds without consulting the hostel staff.
  2. Enjoy our common areas and socialize with fellow travellers. Please leave these spaces clean for others to enjoy.
  3. Be considerate of your fellow dorm-mates. Keep conversations and noise levels down, especially during late hours.
  4. Respect quiet hours between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM. Keep noise to a minimum during these hours, as some guests may be resting.
  5. For security reasons, visitors are not allowed in the dorms. Please meet your friends at the reception.
  6. Lockers are provided for your valuables. Please use them to secure your belongings. The hostel management is not responsible for lost or stolen items. A refundable deposit of INR 100/- is taken for locker padlocks.
  7. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the dorms and lounge. Smoking areas are upstairs in the rooftop and at the Bonfire area.
  8. Consuming food or alcohol in the dorms is not allowed. Please enjoy responsibly in designated areas.
  9. Please be respectful of others by wearing appropriate clothing in shared areas.
  10. Report any disruptive or inappropriate behaviour to hostel staff immediately. We want everyone to feel safe and comfortable.
